Year 7 & 8 Programme

At Te Tipua we have a unique Year 7 and 8 programme which is a special programme carefully planned for this age group of students. We work in conjunction with four other country schools. A specialized Year 7 & 8 teacher is employed to take this programme. Travelling to Te Tipua is easy as we have a bus with stops outside Valley Takeaways & Glendu Road Tennis Courts.

Activities include :-

  • Making new friends with other students from country schools.
  • Deep Cove camp
  • Careers camp including guest speakers talking about their careers. Students stay at Unicol & explore both the Polytech & University
  • Guest artists e.g painting, carving Oamaru stone
  • Learning
  • Learn other languages: french, Spanish, Maori, and Japanese
  • Life education Bus
  • "Choices" programme run by the Police
  • Team building activities
  • Easier transition for students to secondary schools as they have made friends with the other country schools students
  • Attend Young Leaders Day in Dunedin
  • Digital Coding
  • Science Experiments based at St Peters College
  • Four days each term
